QWESTION - "Y"
2002 (Private)

There's always been a special place in our hearts here at peacedogman.com for the godly guitar instrumental record. Last year's PLANKTON debut from Grooveyard blew us all away, and reminded us of the ferociousness this type of album can muster. So we were delighted to get this blistering set of songs from Michigan's QWESTION. The band is the brainchild of (b) Mike Griffith and (g) John Hall. This platter took me back to the days of the late '80s Shrapnel stuff like APOCRYPHA. The underlying heavy Fender riffage in tracks like "Forest of the Norm" (an excellent 12-minute fretboard rollercoaster) kept me hitting the "repeat" button. Fave track was definitely the CHRIS POLAND-esque "3ONE2", alternating between BLIND ILLUSION-style crunch and clean guitar noodlings...great stuff, so visit the band's webpage by hittin' the link below.
